Living right on the coast is different from living just a few miles inland. The air is different, the weather is different. A balmy day in Salem can be downright frigid in Boston, the bigger city nestled on the inside of a shallow harbor, and not on the deeper open water.
Salem, tonight, is hidden beneath thick fog. It rolled in after the storm. It is cold — colder than the air. You can feel the temperature of the North Atlantic in its vapor. Winter is coming.
I will sleep with my decisions tonight.
